KB Tours conducts a four hour African American heritage tour of Washington DC. The tour will be narrated by a native Washingtonian with 26 years of giving tours in the city.The tours start 9:30 am . The tours start from the Judiciary Metro stop. Please use the F. street exit. KB Tours will be conducting special African American Heritage tours to celebrate the opening of the Museum of History and Culture. The special tours will be on September 22 , 2016 at 1:30pm and September 23, 2016 at 9:00am. The bus will be leaving from 401 F.St NW. We will drive to the historic community of Anacostia. Anacostia is in the community of Cedar hill the home of Fredrick Douglass. On to Capital hill ,we will visit the Mary McLeod Bethune statue in Lincoln Park.A journey through downtown to the site of the national headquarters of National Council of Negro Women, Benjamin Banneker Circle at L'Enfant Plaza,Freedom Plaza on Pennsylvania Avenue, the White House and the M.L.King memorial
As we progress uptown, we see the historic Metropolitan AME Church, the Mary McLeod Bethune Council house, in the Logan Circle historic district. We will visit Howard University , African American Civil War Memorial and historic U. Street.
